Marketing Metabolism

Marketing Metabolism

“While some people may indeed have slower metabolic rates than others, the difference equates to a large banana or less” BTN.

Not too much wiggle room there. But, the best thing about this, it can remove a LOT of the excuses someone has about getting in shape.

The thing is, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner when the suns out, I like a beer and an ice cream.

Not together, that would be weird.

When I hear the sound of an ice-cream van, for a split second I’m 5 again.

When someone places a can of beer down on the table on a hot day, watching condensation slowly dripping down the outside of that cool can, there is a part of me that thinks, weekender...

Marketing like food is all about being clear on your priorities.

If you get clear on your priorities, of what you are doing then you can speed up the decision to take action.

If you don't prioritise what you want over what you have you will stay exactly where you are.

The clearer you are on what you want, and what you have to do to get there, the easier it is to do the work required.

You speed up your marketing metabolism

There was a time when you did what was required to get what you wanted because you were crystal clear, on what needed to be done and you prioritised it over everything else.

What is your target for getting leads this year?

Is it to just hope they will come to you because they should, or are you actively planning to get them yourself.

Maybe you should just have an Ice cream and a beer and be happy with your current priorities and decisions

But whatever you do, don't blame your marketing metabolism.

What Mr Burr said

What Mr Burr said

I was watching a bit of stand up comedian Bill Burr when he told a joke about the large fast-food chains working with the government to make the people more stupid, tired and unmotivated so they can be controlled and told what to do.

But, I know if I’ve been eating rubbish I don't want to do anything. I can find a problem in every solution.

Most people tell themselves what they can’t do based on what they are currently doing.

If you haven’t been doing marketing for months the thought of doing it (and I mean planing to do it) is hard work because it's based on your current experience.

Same when you’ve been doing it daily, any idea seems possible.

If you are not getting the results you want maybe you’re just stuck in a rut that you need to shake yourself out of.

Everything is more stressful when you’re stuck.

Everything is more difficult when you’re stuck.

And not making the decision to get going will make everything else more difficult than it needs to be.

There is what you know now and what you can learn to be better.

The biggest difference is being able to apply what you have learnt.

That's why there is a whole section “Unbreakable message” in “Unbreakable Golf Marketing”

If you know stuff at a deeper level you can apply it to suit you and your life.

Anyway, if you are tired, stressed, worn out and can’t get your head right in the morning maybe it’s what you've done “the day before” that's holding you back.

Or it could be the government.

Just take note, because what you measure you can improve (This doesn’t apply to your Hampton).

Wanna know more about Unbreakable, reply to this email.

If not, there is an instant fix here.

Its the old tools not the new toys..

Its the old tools not the new toys..

My car with new technology wouldn't lock, and I stood there like a wally for about five minutes pressing buttons opening and checking doors, pressing more buttons, phone a friend while using all the new tech on this motor but eventually got it open by using a good old fashion screwdriver (you can take the man off-site, but you can't take the site out of the man).

I know I am a caveman, who found the bright shiny computers pretty to look at and I just get by typing with the bottom of my fists, but sometimes,

a good old tool is what you need.

You can keep your fancy retina scans to start a motor, give me a key that I can use to open boxes too.

Most people think they need the perfect set up to get the perfect results.

However this causes them to jump from one thing to another, one plan to another, one system to another rather than just doing the simple thing that has worked in the past and stop the nonsense that doesn't.

Feeling that you can’t do something because it is too difficult just means you haven't broken it down yet into a small part to make it not only simpler but FAR easier to take action and get it done.

There is always a simpler way, you just need to stop looking for perfection.

The guys that are getting the best results are not working to a perfect plan, they just have a plan and stick to it consistently.

What could you pull off in the next 12 weeks if you just did the simple things you know you should consistently be doing every day?

How different would it all look from today if you stopped stopping and jumping from one thing to another?

How would your message come across?

How much more confidence would you have in what you are doing?

How much happier would you be to be around?

How much more money would you make?

It could be what you say, how you say it, how you waste time or just giving yourself permission to say “bollocks I’m doing this and i don't care what people say”.

Simplicity stops all the excuses.

And it doesn't come simpler than this;

Marketing health to an unfit market

Marketing health to an unfit market

So this morning I added the first part of the nutrition training that will form part of the Unbreakable Golfers plan.

This section on nutrition will go deep on the fundamentals of health (The stuff that stops the death) and what is the most up to date advice on getting and staying healthy so that you don’t become another statistic.

In The GolfMob I kept all the nutrition stuff as simple as possible because it stops all the bullshit excuses of having too much to do and too much to think about.

But Unbreakable is a long term process that takes time to implement as its about long term health and results and not just about looking and feeling good for the summer.

Todays training was all about BMI and what to focus on and what to ignore.

The biggest problem with what people do today is they have no frame work to work from.

It’s just about doing what they want and then trying to undo the damage they have been doing to themselves.

This causes people to feel that just walking the golf course is enough. It’s not, its better than not walking the golf course, walking round the shops burns calories and is better than home delivery but its hardly exercise or training and it’s not gonna help golfers live a more healthy life compared to what their body is telling them.

It’s the same with marketing.

You are either connecting or getting ignored on a day to day bases, what you do or don’t do today will impact your brand tomorrow.

There is more facebook ads for learning facebook ads than ever before, but the ads wont save you if you can’t get a golfer to take more action the just clicking an ad.

The problem is most people wont take ownership of getting their message out when it comes to marketing.

Nobody can force anyone else to do the work.

It’s down to them saying “I take FULL responsibility for taking my message to the market place”.

The difference is knowing what to do and most importantly how to apply it to the life they currently live.

How they get more leads,

How they think about themselves and how they are seen in the marketplace,

Search online for marketing and see all the options available.

But you just need a simple framework to follow so you can do it daily and get better every day.

On top of that it might give you the momentum to start building up the energy to do more and get better at marketing your message.

If you wanna know more about how to stand out from every other golf pro out there the link below is where to start.

Guardia motivation...

Guardia motivation...

I made what could be considered as an illegal turn.

And got a telling off by the traffic police...

But, the good thing is it showed up how awful my Spanish is.

It should be much better than it is now.

But I haven’t put the time in, I haven’t been consistent and it shows...

It has caused me to hesitate and make poor decisions with the words I use, and robs me the power to communicate.

The power to communicate is what will get you more leads...

And not doing it properly  robs you of power and that causes you to hesitate or make poor decisions.

If you don’t feel comfortable with the way you communicate right now. You can change it.

You can pull off more in 30 days than you think because when you are committed nothing can really stop you.

The time is gonna pass anyway so why not be doing the work required while the time is slipping away.

How would your diary look in 30 days if you were committed, to learn and study persuasive communication without excuse for the next 30 days?

What decisions could you make if you had 30 consecutive days under your belt to show you what you were capable of?

How far away are you right now from where you want to be?

How much confidence would you have to make the decisions you need to make in your business if you could see what you have pulled off in your marketing.

Your marketing is either giving you more power and results or it is robbing you of it.

It’s easy to tell people what to do, it’s much more difficult to show them, but it is far more powerful when you do show them.

Commit to something for the next 30 days and build more willpower, anything that you know is costing you either time or energy.

If you want something that fits nicely into 30 days and will add more leads to your list then the untidy link below will guide you there.

With that I’m off to learn how to say not guilty in Spanish.

Monkey Marketing...

Monkey Marketing...

I set up a new offer, put in all the work to build it out but missed one tiny detail with a bit of code on my site that sent leads to the wrong page.

The thing is by testing it out we found the issue and now it can be sorted.

Lucky for me I have made so many of these mistakes with software (I am just a shaved monkey who types with the bottom of my fists) so this is just a lesson for me to fix and not jump to something else and say it doesn't work.

Jumping from one thing to another and not sticking to something long enough to get a result.

Doing this causes you to think that what you’re doing isn't working or worse YOU can’t do it because you are not good enough and it causes you to give up again and again and AGAIN. But the fact is if you are really not good enough then you shouldn’t give up because guess what...

You need the fxcking practice.......

What would be possible for you if you refused to give up when you were struggling?

There is where you are today and there is where you want to go tomorrow and the difference between those two points is GETTING BETTER...

Getting better at writing, communicating and leading people to making decisions that get them the results they want.

If you believe in what you offer and you know it helps them you need to get it in front of as many golfers as possible and as often as possible.

Doing this work will make you more confident in what you are doing because you have done the reps... Lots of them...

Where does a need for perfectionism come from?

A need to show no weakness...

But to get better you have to strengthen what is weak.

You can do that to learn to communicate daily with golfers who are eager to listen to you here,  but it requires you to struggle at the start...

Can I have a utility bill just to sell to you?

Can I have a utility bill just to sell to you?

It always makes me wonder why when you are making a big purchase you need to provide a utility bill.

Think about it, it is just a piece of paper easily forged with today's computers and scanners etc.

Not proof that you are not behind on your payments just that you may owe someone money.

Driving licence with your address on it, passport with your address on it and a bit of paper that proves you might pay for something that really doesn't prove anything.

Surely this is just something that was implemented a long time ago when it was important and has just been kept on because of habit.

We all do things out of habit, good and bad...

We don’t put content out when we don’t feel like it out of habit.

How many people do you know that only smoke when they have a drink.

All out of habit and none of it a necessity just because it was something we did once and still do now.

This could be giving up all the time, not doing what you know you should or lying to yourself about what you’re gonna do.

But the thing is, if it is just a habit it can be changed.

Some are easier than others but just realising that it is something you do because you’ve always done it stops the stories of why you can't change.

Habits are just doing something so often it's done on automatic.

So any new habits you want to build can be built just by doing it more often.

You might find that the biggest thing holding you back is just a habit you used years ago and it no longer serves you.

What is your biggest habit you have right now that is holding back getting what you want?

Is it in getting the right content out to your market?

Is it a fear of selling?

What would be possible if you just destroyed that habit and built a better one?

This is why the having a simple system to follow like I lay out in GolfMob Marketing is the most important part of the whole plan.

It allows you to find and break old habits before you even do anything.

Simply Selling Made Complicated

Simply Selling Made Complicated

My thinking is this...

Most things are made WAY too complicated then they need to be.

I’m not talking about complex things, I’m talking about simple things that are made way too complex for the sake of it.

For the sake of sounding clever.

If you can simplify it, why wouldn't you?

Take progress.. Getting from point A to point B can be done a mil-yon ways, but...

Getting from point A to point B in the quickest and most effective way possible would be knowing, where you are starting, knowing the best path and walking it.

So then take “Ideal Progress” and it comes down to 3 simple concepts.

Knowledge of what to do,

A plan to get there

Getting going.

This simply puts every inaction, procrastination second-guessing or doubt in 3 parts

Do you not know what to do or is it, you don't know how to do it, or are you not doing it.

Which one are you missing of the 3 parts of progress?

Are you one of those guys who wants to be better, have access to plenty of information but you have no plan so you jump from one thing to another without ever staying consistent.

Or

Are you one of those guys who has a plan to follow but for some reason can't do the work.

If you are not getting results, make it simpler.

Break it down into those 3 things you might find the answer you are looking for, and the results you want might not be as far from you as you think.

 The results in your marketing

The results in your selling

The results in your closing

Find something that has a plan and decide to stick to it.

GolfMob marketing has a simple to follow plan with enough information to get going but can’t do the work for you, there in lies your first action.......

5 ball, bottle marketing

5 ball, bottle marketing

Saw this quality video last week...

5 Golfers have one ball teed up, they are in a circle, they spin a bottle and whoever the ball ends up pointing too has to hit the ball at the others while they leg it.

Cue shots in the arris, one in the centre of the back (where you do get to hear a bit of bass as it hits him) and what follows is laughter on the course.

Which is something that has been missing for a long time.

And because it was in a golf group, there were no comments from long-nailed keyboard tough-guys telling them why they can’t have fun or play by certain rules, which is a problem people face in today's world where the thought police dictate the narrative of what people can and can’t think or say.

That's the best thing about golfers, don’t get me wrong there are as many pricks in golf as there is in life but we are the last group who are told how to think.

No-one is telling us we have to buy a certain golf club and avoid another because of Bolitics.

If a golfer wants to play a noodle over a Pro v 1 that's his choice.

Yet in another group like marketing or sales, you are told exactly what you are “supposed” to say, do etc...

But if you make what you create as simple as possible, (Like GolfMob Marketing ) you will not feel like you are being “told” what to do but you have a very simple framework to stick too.

So what you can do is find your weak link and either strengthen it or lose it altogether.

This allows you to keep most of the other stuff you enjoy doing and don't feel like you are being “controlled” and doing what you hate.

What could happen if you had a framework to follow that was simple and had the flexibility to still teach, not be stuck in-front of a computer all day, and still have a laugh. The thing is,

You won't stick to anything if you hate it.

So why not pick something that will not only work but also be flexible enough that you can still enjoy what you do.

What do Golfers think about during Lockdown?

What do Golfers think about during Lockdown?

I’ve thought it, ave you? (if we ain't all millyons in debt of course) of all the cool things to do, all the exotic places to go when this is all over, like:

“The spike bar” after a round on a Saturday,

Walking in there starving hungry, with your scorecard in hand, just double-checking the scores cos it was close, still ranting about that 4-foot straight putt, ordering a pint, some food that includes your hot meat of choice, and then taking a seat and looking up at the telly watching Jeff Stelling give you the current football scores while seeing if your football bet is still going.

Whoever thought, that was heaven...

However, most golfers are trying to think up ways to play golf around the house like Chevy Chase in Caddyshack...

Putting golf balls into Pringle packets, going crazy when someone throws away that packet, searching Amazon and eBay for golf nets while at the same time watching golfers hurt themselves with makeshift nets on the internet.

In Spain, we are coming to the end of week 3, or 4, I’ve lost count. If you’re not that far in yet beware that it happens.

If the news is anything to go by, we are in it for a while.

So you might have to start thinking of other things to do that helps you in marketing to golfers.

That can be with how you “think” about how you sell, what it is you offer, and how you can make it more attractive to golfers.

But that all comes down to mindset, and learning to sell without looking and feeling like a car salesman.

Or you can focus on your “skillsets”. Learning how to write persuasive words that people want to read and can't wait for what you have to offer them.

Working on those two things could mean that when you do finally get back on the lesson tee your business and mind will be in a better position for the forces of golfers eager to get better.

So herein lies the question.

What are you actively doing while things are changing to upgrade and improve your ability to persuade and how you think about marketing, so that when you do finally get on the course you are more powerful, more needed and more importantly, wanted more than your competitors.

A follow-up question, if you are doing nothing, then why not?

If you need help:

Dangerous advice In a Safe Facebook group.

Dangerous advice In a Safe Facebook group.

No sooner had I sent yesterdays email about bad advice in a Facebook group, the entertainment gods sent another one just for my displeasure.

There’s a golfer who has the shanks, he uploads a video and asked for advice.

Golf pro James Skelton steps up with a clear explanation of whats-appning, with links to content he's filmed that sorts the issue..

But also, what followed was more information from others (the ones I saw were not golf pro’s) about everything you can physically think about and do in the golf swing.

You name it, it was listed....

Now I imagine 99% of the people sharing did seriously want to help, but were they qualified to help and could some of that advice make it worse? Definitely.

There were even a couple of things I’d read that could even have hurt the guy physically (as an observation I had was that the way his head moves in the back swing, he could be physically restricted in his neck, but that could also be a habit as I haven't screened the guy).

So here in lies today’s lesson,

“Facebook groups are today’s equivalent of the pub”

For every bloke sitting at the bar who knows what he's talking about, there are 50 others with pints in their hands happy to help, but might not have had your unique situation meaning that their advice may not be what you need to hear. Also, their will be that one helmet at the end of the bar, pissed out of his head, mumbling stuff that doesn't make sense.

Like in the pub, it’s up to you who you listen to.

For me, when it comes to marketing and selling. I want to hear from the guys that are actually marketing and selling, and not just repeating what they have heard someone else say.

As luck would-av-it, I teach you exactly what it is I do, and how I do it, here:

Marketing Lessons From A 40 Year Old Golf Virgin

Marketing Lessons From A 40 Year Old Golf Virgin

If like me, you are now in more Facebook groups and whats app groups than I’ve ever been in.

It’s got so bad its actually good. I now hide my phone from me (on silent) for large chunks of the day, and the clarity it brings is powerful stuff.

However, I did get sucked in to one Facebook group where there was this guy who took up golf after his 40th birthday, and now 2 years later, and a lot of lessons he plays off 11.

Bravo that fella.

And he was asking if he should continue taking lessons.

But the comments from the non golf professionals... WOW..

You could not believe the difference of replies, from

“I’ve never had a lesson in my life” to

“yes but just on short game” and

“get stiffer shafts first” even

“if you’re off 11 you don’t need them”.

And then the voice of reason came over the comments section, from a coach (completely ignored by the others beating their chest) and said....

“Are you still improving with the lessons?”  Mike drop, walks into the sunset.

Can you see the difference? All of the comments before were statements, probably based on their own experiences (how we interpret everything) where as the last was a question.

Everyone else had opinions but the question is far more powerful and it boils down to this:

“Is what you are currently doing working for you right now”

If it is, then stop looking for reasons to self sabotage your progress, or ask a better question, like,

“What I’m doing is working but (I don’t want to continue to pay, or I want to take a break and not lose money) you get the point.

If it isn’t then change it. Do something different and see what happens.

Most people are just after “Permission” and I’ll cover that in another email.

So what I want you to do next is just ask yourself:

“Is what I’m doing right now bringing in more clients, Yes or No?”

If the answer is NO ask yourself this:

“What can I do today to make it better?”

I have one way, it's learning how to market, it’s building a better way to creating leads and turning them into clients,  It’s using a simple system for all of the above, and it’s here.

The Marketing Wolves In Facebook Clothing.

Got this message yesterday on Facebook “John, is this you?”. Followed by a link to a youtube video. It’s probably where you click on it, it asks you to sign in to Facebook, and if you do then these wolves have your log in details. (probably hoping that you use the same details for other stuff where they can get your readies).

I didn’t click it, not because of some deep intuition, it’s because...

I’ve been caught out before and now know the scam.

Learning from your mistakes is the best way to learn anything. (if you are not afraid of making mistakes that is ).

Most people make a mistake and then try not to make that same mistake again.

But when it comes to marketing, Most golf pros are addicted to making the same mistakes. They will only think about marketing when things get really bad.

And it comes off in their posts as “needy”, killing all persuasion, and hurting their positioning and potential sales.

There are a few things that can be done that will keep those mistakes away with an outstretched arm, and that’s having a daily dialogue with golfers who will read what you say because you stand out in the inbox like Ricky Fowler in his orange outfit.

One of those ways is to communicate in a way that’s persuasive and you can sell without coming off all salesy

This is just one of dozens of tips that will help you, your marketing and your consistency to put out daily content that is of interest to golfers without more

“fix your slice” tips.

Market To Golfers Who Struggle.

Market To Golfers Who Struggle.

In my twenties, I suffered from serious back trouble.

There wouldn't be a year or even 6 months that could go by without injury, time off work and more importantly, time off golf.

Then over years and years of study and action that is behind me. And out of that, I built Golf Performance Therapy targeting injured golfers.

Any pain now comes from not exercising or fighting (Brazilian Jiu-jitsu).

Then with kids, I hit the “fat dad” stage had to change everything up, and out of that came The GolfMob, targeting golfers who wanted to lose weight.

Realising I hated most of what I was doing, went through personal development programs (like Wake Up Warrior, etc) and out of that came Unbreakable Golfers. Targeting golfers who wanted to fix their mind as well as their body.

All of these made my golf (and my life) better and can make anyone better who wants to, is willing to take action and can be consistent.

All of the above came about by trying to fix something in me that was broken. And then taking the results I got for myself and targeting golfers like me.

So what golfers are you targeting and why?

Here's what I want you to do next.

Decide who are you targeting and more importantly WHY.

How can you make their life better?

What can you offer them that separates you from other golf pro's.

Then write an email or a post in "that frame of mind" and send it to them

If you want a simple system that sets you apart from every other golf pro out there then here I show you how.

How to energise your golf marketing without caffeine.

How to energise your golf marketing without caffeine.

Let’s be 100% clear,

I love caffeine, and I think its existence is all-powerful and needed in all sorts of situations.

But,

It means that you have to have a comedown at some point and too much of it, will end up giving you the reverse effect and mess with your deep sleep causing you to wake up knackered.

Which affects your ability to put content out.

You can give yourself more energy as soon as you get up by getting in the water ASAP.

Especially if you make water your priority, have a set amount to earn your coffee or tea.

Here’s the task.

Tomorrow morning before you have toast, tea, coffee or even check Facebook get some water in.

This is much more difficult then you think, as your mind in the morning will tell you;

“I can’t do that” which is why it also has positive repercussions because you've just overcome an objection as soon as you wake up. (Which is powerful stuff)

And this allows your mind to be clear helping you to write the post emails and page posts needed to get golfers wanting to hear for you.

A warning...........

If you’ve not done this before you will piss like a racehorse, however,...

You're not gonna be too far from a toilet if you're on lockdown, are you.

One more thing,

If you can’t do this try it the next day, then the next, then the next until you do finally get this done.

Sometimes, consistency is to keep trying to do something as well as actually doing it.

And let’s face it, if you can’t do this first thing in the morning how would you ever be able to do all the other cool stuff which gets amazing results for your golf marketing that’s covered in “Golf Marketing Made Simple”

And if you want to know more about that, the first step is here.
